Wet method
Wet deodorization
The wet deodorization method involves spraying an aqueous solution supplied to a nozzle under high pressure for maximum dispersion of water in the gases – the so-called water mist.
Active preparations are offered as emulsions or solubilized solutions. They are used in highly diluted forms (0.5-0.05)%.
Advantages:
- lowers the temperature
- limits the dustiness
Disadvantages:
- high sensitivity to ambient temperature, which hinders the solution evaporation, even at positive temperatures (even below 16°C) – which makes it impossible for chemical reactions to occur because of active compounds contained in water
- susceptibility to freezing in winter – winter water mist mixes poorly with warm gases with high moisture content
- time-consuming and complex system maintenance
